Snetterton Information & FAQs – Track Day Guide For Visitors
Snetterton’s original purpose was as an RAF airfield, designated for use by the 96th United States Air Force Bomber Group between May 1943 and November 1948. The circuit itself was created in 1951 from the network of remaining runways and its first race event was held in the same year by the Aston Martin Owner’s Club.
Snetterton Information & FAQs
The circuit configuration has changed several times during Snetterton’s 60-year history. In the 1960s and early 1970s, it was 2.7 miles in length and a large section ran almost adjacent to the A11 road, before a sharp hairpin turn and a long run back to what is now known as the Brundle and Nelson corners.

2024 TRACK DAYS AT Snetterton WITH GOLDTRACK
Goldtrack track day events at Snetterton are hosted by Melindi Scott and motor racing champion Calum Lockie.
We operate a premium open pit-lane policy meaning that you can use the race circuit at any time and for as long as you like throughout your motor racing track day.

International Events At Snetterton
Snetterton hosts all Britain’s top championships including British Touring Cars, Superbikes and GT.
British GT & GB3 Championships
British GT & GB3 Championships. Held on the 17th & 18th of June 2023, the British GT contest throws up all manner of twists and turns, most of the time with a scarcely believable outcome. Motor-sports crews, at the wheel of Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG machinery are in contention, when the top teams are competing, fireworks often result.
Touring Car Championship
The Kwik Fit BTCC British Touring Car Championship held on the 20th & 21st of May 2023, is a touring car racing series held each year in the United Kingdom and uses Snetterton as a venue, currently organised and administered by TOCA. It was first established in 1958 as the British Saloon Car Championship.

I can do this! It’s only a car (that I won’t be driving) and it’ll be no more than 20 minutes or so around a racetrack. Granted… there are one or two sharp bends but it’s a circular racetrack and anyway, I’ll be in the experienced hands of Calum Lockie.
Easy-peasy I thought as I was trussed into the passenger seat then it slowly dawned on me that this was very, very REAL. This was no ordinary car. This was a mean souped-up Porsche 911 and Calum wasn’t going to take any prisoners. He didn’t.

Hanging on for grim death we achieved a staggering 155mph during what was one of the most exciting, exhilarating and terrifying bucket list experiences of a lifetime.
Honestly, this is something we all need to do. Never mind fairground rides and the like. This was the speed that was REAL and in the hands of someone whose experience is REAL, and I will never ever watch motor racing or a car chase again without reliving the total thrill of that 20 minutes around a windswept hill known as Thruxton.
