Donington Park Information & FAQs – Track Day Guide For Visitors
Donington Park was originally part of the Donington Hall estate. It was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars at a point when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European racing championship. During the war it was used as a military vehicle storage depot.

MotorSport Vision bought the circuit business and a long term lease in 2017 and have made significant improvements to the facilities including a new restaurant, modernised toilet blocks, new circuit offices and large new grandstand.

The Craner Curves provide the high speed thrill and then on through The Old Hairpin, fast and off camber. Further on there is the high speed approach to McLean’s and the blind entry to Coppice, all challenging and rewarding sections of another great British circuit.

2024 TRACK DAYS AT Donington Park WITH GOLDTRACK
Goldtrack track day events at Donington Park are hosted by Melindi Scott and motor racing champion Calum Lockie. They operate a premium open pitlane policy meaning that you can use the race circuit at any time and for as long as you like throughout your motor racing track day.

International Events At Donington Park
Donington Park’s premier events include the annual visit of the FIM Superbike World Championship, the Bennetts British Superbike Championship and the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship. Other large events include British GT and F3, British Truck Racing, the Donington Historic Festival and the Classic Motorcycle Festival.
As well as being a famous motorsport venue, Donington Park is also celebrated as the host of the ‘Download Rock Festival’ held in June, which attracts tens of thousands of music fans each year. With competition cars spanning eight decades of racing. Everything from pre-War sports cars. I can do this! It’s only a car (that I won’t be driving) and it’ll be no more than 20 minutes or so around a racetrack. Granted… there are one or two sharp bends but it’s a circular racetrack and anyway, I’ll be in the experienced hands of Calum Lockie.
Easy-peasy I thought as I was trussed into the passenger seat then it slowly dawned on me that this was very, very REAL. This was no ordinary car. This was a mean souped-up Porsche 911 and Calum wasn’t going to take any prisoners. He didn’t.

Hanging on for grim death we achieved a staggering 155mph during what was one of the most exciting, exhilarating and terrifying bucket list experiences of a lifetime.
Honestly, this is something we all need to do. Never mind fairground rides and the like. This was the speed that was REAL and in the hands of someone whose experience is REAL, and I will never ever watch motor racing or a car chase again without reliving the total thrill of that 20 minutes around a windswept hill known as Thruxton.
