Bedford Autodrome race circuit is situated on the former site of RAE Bedford which in its heyday was widely considered one of the finest research and development hubs for aeronautics outside the United States.

The circuit is owned by MotorSport Vision and was designed with the brief of allowing participants the unique freedom to drive harder and faster than anywhere else in the world. Bedford Autodrome is home of the industry leading PalmerSport events headed by former F1 driver, BBC commentator and multiple race circuit owner Jonathan Palmer. His direct input to the circuit design gives us a fast circuit with excellent run-off areas and is a fantastic venue for trackdays. They bill it as “the safest circuit in Britain”

We are holding events in 2023 for two Bedford Autodrome circuit configurations.  The 3.8 miles long  GT circuit and the shorter South West circuit which is 2.8 miles in length.

Bedford Autodrome GT circuit offers plenty of excitement – at 4.2 miles long there’s a lot to put together on this super fast circuit. It’s rare to find a venue with so much run off and no barriers and a good lap can really make the most of this.

Bedford Autodrome’s 2.8 mile South West circuit is the perfect venue for a track evening. 10 corners, huge run offs and no barriers make for a very rewarding circuit.

Getting to Bedford Autodrome Circuit By Car

Bedford Autodrome From the South (M1) At Junction 13, take the A421 towards Bedford until it meets the A6 road. Follow signs A6 Bedford then A6 Kettering once through Bedford. Stay on the A6 past Milton Ernest then at the next roundabout take the third exit following signs to Bedford Technology Park. Turn left into Thurleigh Airfield Business Park and then follow the red Bedford Autodrome signs.

Bedford Autodrome From the North (M1) At Junction 19 follow the A14 eastbound towards Harwich. At Junction 10 take the A6 towards Bedford. Stay on the A6 until the Sharnbrook roundabout. Take the first exit and follow signs to Bedford Technology Park. Turn left into Thurleigh Airfield Business Park then follow the red Bedford Autodrome signs.

From the North Leave the A1 at the A421 junction. Take the A421 followed by the A428 to Bedford. Follow signs A6 Kettering through Bedford. Stay on the A6 through Milton Ernest then at the next roundabout take the third exit and follow signs to Bedford Technology Park. Turn left into Thurleigh Airfield Business Park then follow the red Bedford Autodrome signs.

From the South Leave the A1 and join the A603 towards Bedford. Follow signs A6 Kettering through Bedford. Stay on the A6 through Milton Ernest. At the next roundabout take the third exit and follow signs to Bedford Technology Park, turn left into Thurleigh Airfield Business Park then follow the red Bedford Autodrome signs.

Getting to Bedford Autodrome Circuit By Rail

The nearest station to Bedford Autodrome is a Bedford station and is a 20 minutes taxi drive away. Trains from London leave from either St Pancras or any Thameslink station roughly every 20 minutes. There is a taxi rank immediately outside Bedford Station.

There is a Shell garage around 2 miles from Bedford Autodrome and can be found on the A6 Souldrop road, (Bedford MK44 1HJ) – Alternatively, fuel is available on site between 9:00-16:30.

Yes, we run driver tuition at Bedford Autodrome Motor-racing circuit on Goldtrack track days!  No track driver ever stops learning and we take tuition very seriously.

Tuition on a Gold Track day at Bedford Autodrome provides familiarisation and basic tuition right through to in-depth coaching for racers. We chose our ARDS instructors for their experience, communication skills and ability to gauge their input to your current level of experience.

Free Initial Tuition For All Novices Driving At Bedford Autodrome

Our commitment to safety and high standards of track driving starts with free initial tuition for novices, whether it’s your first time ever at Bedford Autodrome or just an unfamiliar circuit.

This ensures that all our customers achieve a certain minimum standard of competence before going solo on the Bedford Autodrome race circuit. One of our instructors will sit with you in your car while you drive your first laps. After that, the instructors are available all day for further advice. You can book 30-minute one-to-one tuition sessions at Bedford Autodrome or at all other events.

Bedford Autodrome Motor Circuit operates under a strict noise management regime.

Goldtrack Track days typically run on a 101 dB noise limit on Bedford Autodrome track days, but please refer to individual track day events for noise limits on the track day event booking page.

It is not confirmed at this time if there are  cash machines or ATMs available on-site however, we do accept card payments.

Baby changing facilities at Bedford Autodrome can be located on the visitor map.

Bedford Autodrome has a no smoking policy in the public or pitlane areas. Please refer to the visitors map for designated smoking locations.

You can bring food to Bedford Autodrome. However, there is a strict policy banning the use of glass.

Clients attending the Bedford Autodrome motor racing circuit.  Like most of our track days, they include people from all walks of life – from wealthy business people who drive exotic supercars, to young enthusiasts who take hot hatches, sports cars and even family saloons onto the circuits.

A number of competing racing drivers also regularly attend track days at Bedford Autodrome to refine their circuit knowledge – or just because they can’t stay away.

Calum Lockie is available on all Gold Track days running advanced tuition for safely improving lap speeds at the Bedford Autodrome race track, on our track days you’ll always see a great variety of vehicles whilst meeting interesting people who share a similar passion for cars and driving.
