Anglesey Information & FAQs – Track Day Guide For Visitors

The Anglesey motor racing circuit is in Wales and plays a host of motorsport events including car racing, motorcycle racing, car sprints, stage rallies and drifting. It opened as a fully licensed MSA and ACU championship racing circuit in 1997.

Anglesey motor racing circuit was the former Ty Croes Army Training Camp. The area had been subject to a compulsory purchase order by the Ministry of Defence during WW2 in 1941.

The Bodorgan estate managed to to buy back the first tranche of land from the Ministry of Defence on the 24th August 1989 and soon began holding events on the then. During 2006-2007, construction began on the total reconfiguration of the circuit into the 2.1 mile International we see today.

Track Day Times: 9:00 am To 5.00 pm
Lunch Break: 1:00 pm To 2:00 pm

Anglesey is a breath of fresh air (literally!) with a superb pits complex and the 2.1 mile International GP circuit to match. The variety of corners is very good with the flat out (nearly!, maybe!) blast from Church Corner on up the hill to Rocket where the unwary go into understeer just as you crest the brow and need to turn into the corner. With good contour change it requires a great combination of bravery and self control all set to the magnificent backdrop of the Snowdon mountains and the sea in between. Picturesque doesn’t cover it.

TRACK DAYS WITH GOLDTRACK

Goldtrack track day events at Anglesey and the other UK & European circuits are hosted by Melindi Scott and motor racing champion Calum Lockie.  They operate a premium open pitlane policy meaning that you can use the race circuit at any time and for as long as you like throughout your motor racing track day.

Getting to Anglesey By Road

From mainland North Wales, cross the Britannia Bridge onto Anglesey. Continue West along the new A55 Dual Carriageway for approximately 12 miles. Look for the White on Brown tourism sign for the circuit at Junction 5. Follow the A4080 signposted Rhosneigr and Aberffraw.

Continue past Rhosneigr, which is situated to the right of the A4080 on towards Aberffraw. Just under 5 miles from leaving the dual carriageway (A55) look for White on Brown Tourism signs at a small crossroads and turn right towards the circuit.

Anglesey race circuit from the Port of Holyhead – Visitors should travel east along the A55 for approximately 7 miles then take the A4080 from Junction 5 as described above.

Yes, we run driver tuition at Anglesey Motor-racing circuit on Goldtrack track days!  No track driver ever stops learning and we take tuition very seriously.

Tuition on a Gold Track day at Anglesey provides familiarisation and basic tuition right through to in-depth coaching for racers. We chose our ARDS instructors for their experience, communication skills and ability to gauge their input to your current level of experience.

Free Initial Tuition For All Novices Driving At Anglesey

Our commitment to safety and high standards of track driving starts with free initial tuition for novices, whether it’s your first time ever at Anglesey or just an unfamiliar circuit.

This ensures that all our customers achieve a certain minimum standard of competence before going solo on the Anglesey race circuit. One of our instructors will sit with you in your car while you drive your first laps. After that, the instructors are available all day for further advice. You can book 30-minute one-to-one tuition sessions at Anglesey or at all other events.

Anglesey Motor Circuit operates under a strict noise management regime.

Goldtrack Track days typically run on a 105 dB noise limit on Anglesey track days, but please refer to individual track day events for noise limits on the track day event booking page.

We have no information on ATMs at this point.

Baby changing facilities at Anglesey can be located on the visitor map.

Anglesey has a no smoking policy in the public or pitlane areas. Outside area’s, there is no set policy.

You can bring food to the Anglesey circuit. However, there is a strict policy banning the use of glass.

Clients attending the Anglesey motor racing circuit.  Like most of our track days, they include people from all walks of life – from wealthy business people who drive exotic supercars, to young enthusiasts who take hot hatches, sports cars and even family saloons onto the circuits.

A number of competing racing drivers also regularly attend our track days at Donington, to refine their circuit knowledge – or just because they can’t stay away.

Calum Lockie is available on all Gold Track days running advanced tuition for safely improving lap speeds at the Anglesey race track, and you’ll always see a great variety of vehicles whilst meeting interesting people who share a similar passion in cars and driving.

We have covered thousands of track miles on Dunlop road-legal track day tyres and thoroughly recommend them for trackdays at Anglesey We use them on our Porsche 968 Club Sport track cars and also work with Dunlop Motorsport for circuit only tyres. Check them out at www.hptyres.com

The Anglesey race circuit paddock has 48 electrical hook up points. These are the 16 amp blue plug style. There are an additional 2 of these in each garage, plus a 110v supply.
